Get to Know Us

In 2008 the winery opened after owners, Prudence and Beat, sold Red Rooster Winery. Red Rooster had become a big winery. They wanted to get away from all the paperwork and get back in touch with the vines, wines, and guests. They have to work hard at staying small as Ruby Blues quickly became popular among visitors for its fun vibes, great music and approachable wines. Today, they are a popular stop for many wine enthusiasts seeking a more fun and personalized tasting experience. Their commitment to hands-on involvement in every aspect of winemaking, from tending to the vines to engaging with guests, has fostered a welcoming atmosphere that sets them apart. Ruby Blues continues to thrive as a beloved destination, cherished by those who appreciate the artistry of winemaking in a laid-back and enjoyable setting.

Naramata Bench Wines

Our Approach

All of their wines are produced predominately from vineyards on the Naramata Bench where the terroir imparts that unique quality specific to our region. Everyone who works with the grapes at Ruby Blues is guided to speak to the vines with love and to ensure that music is played in the vineyard. They believe
all living things deserve to be treated with love, including their vines.

When visiting you will have opportunity to taste their Commune Series. These wines are made from grapes sourced both from their estate vineyards and from vineyards of friends and neighbours along the Naramata Bench. The grapes from these different origins are brought together as wine in the bottle. They all live in peace and harmony, just like the communes of the sixties. As they like to say, make wine, not war!
