With the lake below us and the rolling mountains of the Southern Okanagan above us Naramata Bench is a natural playground with breathtaking views and discoveries around every corner.
Biking, Walking, Hiking.
The Naramata Bench is home to one of the most beautiful stretches of the Kettle Valley hiking and biking trail. This single lane wide and well groomed trail is the road-bed of the former Kettle Valley Railway and runs the entire length of the Naramata Bench paralleling the road but higher on the mountain. For cyclists and walkers it affords beautiful views and a wonderful chance to commune with nature. There are many access points and several of our wineries are adjacent to the trail making for a unique walking / biking and wine tasting experience.
Hikers will enjoy the myriad of trails that branch off the Kettle Valley trail up into the mountains as will mountain bike riders with many trails built and dedicated to riding.
Road bikers will love the rolling rhythm of the Naramata Road and many choose to do their wine touring by bike.
And if you just want to go for a walk enjoy the quiet street around the town centre that are tree lined with lake views, or the meandering Old Main Road that leads you to the cool courtyard of Elephant Island Orchard Wines.

Ok – the truth is the only golf course on the Naramata Bench never actually got off the ground although intrepid hikers occasionally come upon an overgrown fairway. But there is golf minutes away in Penticton, and more than a dozen world class courses within easy driving distance of the Naramata bench.
We’re a pretty active community as well. Take a peek at local events here.
Still got some energy at the end of a day on the Naramata Bench?
The Naramata Pub, Naramata Heritage Inn and Hillside Winery all feature regular entertainment nights.
Minutes away in downtown Penticton there is a range of clubs, restaurants and other night life.
