An Ancient Terroir

Wine grape vines have turned a vibrant orange. Fall is when the vineyards of the wineries turn a stunning rainbow of colours. Lovely to sitt and watch the waves of Lake Okanagan while sipping some wine during your wine vacation. The grapes are coming in and by all accounts it is a stellar harvest this year which bodes well for the vintages to come out of 2012.  After a cool, wet month of June, Mother Nature turned it on and July, August and September proved to be excellent growing conditions.

Winemakers across the Naramata Bench are reporting excellent numbers and full rich flavours.  The crush pads are running day and night and there is a sense of excitement on the Bench as the journey from vine to bottle begins.

Tasting Rooms on the Naramata Bench are still open of course, and the days are still warm and beautiful, so it’s a great time to sneak away for a little wine touring.
